FAQ
What are the benefits of Olive oils?
Olive oil, particularly extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), is not only a culinary staple but also offers a range of health benefits due to its nutrient-rich profile. Olive oil is high in monounsaturated fats, especially oleic acid, which can help reduce bad LDL cholesterol and increase good HDL cholesterol. Polyphenols and vitamin E in olive oil protect against oxidative stress and inflammation, both of which are linked to cardiovascular diseases. Olive oil contains compounds which have natural anti-inflammatory effects similar to ibuprofen, reducing chronic inflammation that contributes to diseases like arthritis. Its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties support skin repair, hydration, and elasticity, making it a popular ingredient in skincare. Lastly, olive oil can promote gut health by supporting the balance of healthy gut bacteria.
Why are your olive oils different from store bought?
Our olive oils are imported as soon as they are harvested on the North and South Hemisphere. Our oils are also vetted to ensure that once imported the quality is fresh, meeting the standards, ensuring consistency, authenticity, and the highest standards of production. Store bought often sit on shelves for extended periods, leading to degradation in flavor and nutritional quality. They are also typically mass-produced, with a focus on cost-efficiency rather than quality. Some may be mislabeled or mixed with lower-quality oils, falling short of true extra virgin standards.
How is your balsamic vinegar made?
Our balsamic vinegar is made from grape must, which is freshly crushed juice in Moderna, Italy. The must is slowly cooked down into a thick, caramelized syrup, which is then fermented and aged. Aging takes place in a series of wooden barrels, imparting unique flavors to the vinegar over time. Traditional balsamic vinegar is aged for up to 18 years, allowing it to develop a rich, complex flavor profile with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity.

What is the expiration date of the olive oils?
When stored in a cool place and a dark bottle, they retain their fresh flavor and freshness for 9 to 12 months. After this, all oils naturally lose some of their flavor, aroma and beneficial polyphenols (antioxidants).
What is the expiration date of the balsamic vinegars?
Balsamic vinegar has an indefinite shelf life due to its acidity, which acts as a natural preservative. As long as it is stored properly, in a cool, dark place, , it will not spoil. However, for best flavor and quality, it’s recommended to consume it within 3 to 5 years after opening. Over time, the flavor might slightly mellow, or sediment may form, but these changes are natural and do not indicate spoilage.
